Amazing audio recording effect!
OK, in this (different topic) thread I embedded a Youtube video.
I was grabbing a snippet of a concert with my cell phone. Listen to the 30 second video and pay very particular attention to the last 5 seconds. I couldn't figure out what the heck was happening at the end there. You could hear the whole crowd singing in unison, then suddenly I heard like one or two girls' voices. Well........I remember I was at a park a couple days ago and playing with my camera-phone zoom settings and turned on some function called "audio zoom" which "zooms" in on sound when you zoom in optically. I just remembered that I had turned that on. Holy cow! That really, honestly WORKS! I have no idea what kind of algorithmic signal processing voodoo they are using (I'm sure it has to do with stereo separation and sound delay used to filter blah blah blah). This crappy little cell phone camera system zoomed in (accidentally) and picked out a single voice singing in a crowd of 21,000 ! I am flabbergasted.

Would be tiny little microphones so compared to a regular full sized microphone it would be more like suppression of other surrounding sounds than be an amplification of a particular sound of interest. Amazing none the less.
