I really enjoyed looking at these photos from around the world. Uncommonly beautiful.

I took a drive into downtown St. Augustine last night.

As the oldest city in the country, it's normally teeming with people until the later hours, seven days a week.

At 9:30pm, it was deserted:

It was pretty creepy...

I went for a long bike ride today on my new bicycle. It's warmed just enough and the sun was out finally. With the few people I saw I noticed what I'll call the virus wave. It's when you see a person at a distance you lift your arm with your palm open an hold it up for a second. It's like recognizing another person but yet understanding that both want each other to keep their distance.

Downtown Austin, 6th Street in particular, is strange to see empty. A bunch of the clubs have boarded up the doors and windows which adds another bizarre twist. Photos are out on the web. This should have been SXSW season and packed with people from all over the music world.

I'm from an urban area - NYC. I find it a little reassuring. but don't know if that's the case. Here in NYC they have more restrictions of playgrounds, sports courts, I think parks etc, because people continue to ignore the stay home, keep distance order. To their credit the government moved on it a day or two after the lockdown went into effect. I read social distancing is now being monitored and they said this would be supported by the police and may be IMHO by the militia soon..

I updated this post from earlier - playgrounds etc are not under mandate closing and apologise for error, also they were discussing militia support for
social distancing. The third thing is I don't know whether they are still following through with police monitoring plans - things change here daily.
