I have this problem. My nails curved so badly that it affected how I played. I developed bad technique as a way to compensate for the nails.

Suggestion. It may work for some of you. It worked for me but only for a while.

My college instructor advised me to cut out ping pong balls into small pieces and glue them underneath my nails. The tone you get out of this is so heavenly. In my case, eventually, this process started separating the nail from the flesh more and more and it no longer worked for me. If your nails aren't too bad or if you simply want better tone, this method can help. If you're interested, just hit me up and I'll explain it in detail.
