Blues You Can USe

Has anyone used this to learn/improve your playing?

It's one of a few beginner blues books I have. It's OK, but the best intro to playing-the-blues book I bought was Blues Guitar for Dummies.

Is Blues You Can Use geared to the electric guitar primarily?

It's more toward electric blues.

I bought it years ago and felt it was a very good approach. He has since published several similar CD/book sets in this series that are also very good. If memory serves me, he had at one point made available play a long tracks that were different from the included CD. You may want to check with Mr. Ganapes or search online.

I agree with this. There is certainly lots of stuff that translates well for either acoustic or electric but for e.g. I don't know too many people that will doing the bending lessons very successfully on acoustic.

Solid curriculum. I have the whole set and have learned a lot from them. I do wish John would've included backing tracks without the guitar part in them but that's a minor quibble.
