I'm thinking that "Julie" is a cover name for a big name touring guitarist who wants to have multiple instruments just in case...

Which, of course, the buyer would be perfectly entitled to do. It wouldn’t make any sense, though - it’s not as if Virtuos are exactly rare. However, based on some of the other nonsense I’ve seen on Reverb, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Interesting thought. Alistair Hay didn’t have a lot to say about what was really a rather unusual purchase. Maybe you’re on to something…

Reminds me of an interview with the guitar tech for Lindsey Buckingham (of Fleetwood Mac) where he goes over a rack full of identical Rick Turner Model One guitars that Lindsey uses. He uses different ones for different songs with different tuning, capo, strings, and/or strap length and then there are backups for each one.

I saw Robert Cray in concert several years ago, and he swapped his Strats after every song. I knew this to be true because I was sitting in the third row. I don't believe he used different tunings, but simply swapped guitars because they'd go out of tune after a single song. I know he used at least two guitars because they were different colors (silver & purple), but that's not to say that he didn't have more than two waiting in the wings...

Yes, I saw it. Both of my Emeralds have Redwood Burl tops. My previous statement was supposed to validate your good taste because I too love an Emerald with a Redwood Burl top...
