Guild M-20 - Vintage versus New? Pros and cons?
Hi folks,
I played a killer 60's Guild M-20 last night. Great bass, loud, balanced and tons of mojo. So easy to thump so blues. (Maybe helped simmer down my GAS for a Waterloo...) Anybody know the difference b/w a vintage 60's M-20 and a new one? Pros and cons? I have not looked that deep but this seems cheap right? https://reverb.com/p/guild-m-120e-ac...g&hfid=4036059 Compared to this... https://reverb.com/marketplace?query...ce%7Casc&page= |

The m120 is Chinese made and the m20 is American made...hence the price difference. I think the Chinese made guilds are an exceptional instruments and a great value

I think the OP is referring to the new American made M20s. They seems very thin on the ground at the moment.
Can't wait to try one. |

Thanks y'all. Really not sure the difference b/w any of them. New to the M20 world. Just that that vintage one was super cool...

I've played 3 new M-20's. Very consistent, high quality, great playing and sounding instruments. Have also played 2-3 used but near new M-120's. 1/2 the price, heavy gloss finish, well built, decent sound, but no vibe. The new American made M-20 begs to be picked up and played. No experience with vintage ones.
