Practicing my songs so often that I still sing them on pitch, when I can't hear myself. I get a lot of compliments on my pitch at noisy venues, from audiences and employees about it.

That is a fine skill indeed!

BTW: Yesterday I installed a Schatten HFN in my new D-18MD. Just tried it out on my little PA system and was really impressed! Never had such a nice acoustic tone with just a little EQ from the mixing board. Next days/weeks I want to test it with my Auras, Tonedexter and HX Stomp. For now I really wonder if that can get better.
But the real test is tonight at the gig with my 6 piece acoustic band. Things are often quite different in a live situation.

Bose gear. Discovered through this forum.

I was an electric tube amp guy for most of my gigging career, and when I went "all acoustic" I had to go through the same learning process as all of us.

UST's and Carvin AC100D (which is a great amp, and one I still own) and also mic'ing to a p.a. Then I took on a 1933 Gibson mandolin (no pickup) and a cheap Fender resonator (no pickup) and decided I preferred the sound of a mic and basically zero effects over anything.

But it was the S1-Pro and the L1-Compact that cleared the cobwebs for me. Really nice, clean, well dispersed tone.

Default Maton AP5 Oro

I’m playing the same SRS70C and truly just makes getting great amplified tone simple. You’re right, pedals or no pedals it sounds amazingly consistent from night to night. I know a lot of people rip the acoustic tone but mine has a really clear balanced tone that I can strum as hard as I like without it breaking up. The blackwood sounds very koa to me. Just my 2 cents
