Each has it's own purpose...for fingerstyle, strumming, all around play, etc..

I'll tell you that I'm pretty darn picky as to what gets into the family of guitars though.

Did you get the impression he won't answer your question?? Wish I had that kind of discretionary dough. But, we all need what we all need, right? Can't wait to see the finished product.

Latest pictures....

Close up of the rosette (in my opinion, the paua that Jim uses is absolutely amazing - among the most radiant I've ever seen and pictures dont do it justice) - the brazilian used here is from the same set as the back and sides..

All boxed up and ready for the binding and abalone around the soundboard...

Man, still hard to believe that this is braz and not EIR (thank you Jim!). After looking at the end/tail wedge I'm glad I chose the matching braz for it. The paua flashes nice against it.

and a group photo...

For those interested in where we are relative to the building process, here is a link to my last Olson SJ build and you can see what is to come...

I love the contrast beween the dark brazilian and the creamy white spruce. That is definitely going be a "tuxedo" guitar...only to be used in "formal" occastions...lol

That's what Kevin called my Cathedral - Italian spruce and Madagascar rosewood.

Yeah, it's pretty dark right now and when it's finished it'll probably be pretty darn dark!
