Given the relatively- and supposedly low - rates of infections from the recent BLM protests there have been suppositions that maybe fans in stadiums might be possible. I’m dubious of that though.

Friends in Boston tell me that the Sox and MLB are using Boston College's facilities for practice. I didn't realize that. Mostly pitchers, I think.

Kinda OT but what happened to the XFL? Did it bust? If so, why - and would those reasons be concerns for how the established sports leagues plan to resume?

The XFL is filed for bankruptcy and is for sale. Vince McMahon is being sued ... so, not a positive first season.

For me, I'd take the NHL over the NBA any day!

formula 1 racing is commencing this weekend. They are hoping to still have something like 16 races this season. No fans in the stands. Limited interaction between pit crews.

David Price, new member of the LA Dodgers, announced he won't be playing this year due to covid. Mike Trout announced yesterday he has some serious concerns and I'm guessing he won't be playing either. I have no problems with players sitting out, especially with pregnant wives at home.

Great time for someone trying to make it to the big leagues to get a chance they might not otherwise get.

NY Yankees playing an inter-squad game live on the YES network. Strange viewing...but it's nice to see.

I don't want to risk turning this political, but I don't believe that for a second...

What a brutal hit to the head for Tanaka. That makes your heart jump. Is he going to be able to resume activities in the next few days or is it long term?

Short term. He was released from the hospital the day he got hit. Yes, it was brutal.

Default How Will Sports Resume?

It already has for me, and it was glorious (Austrian Grand Prix).

I think there will be more competitions involving food consumption.

I understand. “Beliefs” seem to be leading us down some paths we’d never thought we’d go though. I’m just going by what the local news is telling me. I tend to take national news with a grain of salt - oh heck, who am I kidding? I take it with a 5lb bag of salt.

As for sports, teams are starting to report the results of testing and MLB is reporting about a 1% positive test rate.
