I dealt with Kevin and Barb mainly through email back in 2005 and I thought the communication was first class. When the build started, the updates were very prompt as well.
I went all in for the signature guitar and it took 7-8 months. Non signatures took 18-24 months then.. I’m also halfway across the world. Guitar has the names of my twin girls on the fingerboard and the purfing is done extremely well.. My 2 cents

If you call, you'll most likely be working with Amilcar, Ryan's sales manager, on a direct order.
Amilcar worked at McCabes for many years in a sales capacity and joined Ryan's small team as a kind of do it all guy. Kevin keeps busy and one normally has to go thru wife Barb to get to him directly.
