My Taylor 314ce is not a favorite. It's the only acoustic I own at the moment and view it as temporary. Only one acoustic fits in my fifth wheel. Saving to buy my favorite guitar which is a Martin D-41 from the late 60's. May end up settling for a D-28.

I'm so fortunate to own some excellent guitars and guilty of proclaiming that each is my favorite when I'm playing them. Yet, if pushed, I would say that my Doerr Legacy is the ONE. Incredible tone, and pretty amazing tonewoods and playability.
It's also the only commission I've ever done, so there is certainly a sentimental aspect as well; the build experience, learning through the process, and getting to know Tom, but the LS Redwood makes it also quite distinctive. The original tune, "Dancer's Interlude" in my signature right now is played on this guitar [IMG][/IMG]

I don’t have a favorite, but in keeping with the spirit of the thread, there is none better than my Froggy Bottom K Adi/English Walnut. Big thunder combined with delicate harmonics make for a pretty amazing tone. And the deep wasted body combined with a custom carved neck make it a joy to play.

What is your FAVORITE acoustic guitar that you own, and why?
KiMo is. When I got this guitar at a Guitar Center about 10 months ago, I felt like I bought my best friend. The build, sound, playability, looks, everything - after almost 50 years playing, I feel like I'm finally home. It's a GA -- Taylor 814ce DLX with the V bracing.

My Oxnard-build Guild F512 is spectacular, but I think my "favorite" is still my Corona-build JF30-12....

Not my best guitar but my favorite- 41 years of ownership, we've been through thick and thin together, she's a bit beat up but plays and sounds great. I can leave her on the stand without worrying if the cat will scratch her or knock her over and very handy to just pick up and play whenever. Still in love with my FG365s!

Love my Martin D15 and my Guild D150 - cannon, but the guitar I always pick up first is the 2003 Larrivee OM-03 (far left) just a joy to play. I may be about to go next level with a used Santa Cruz. |

My Eastman E10ss, of all my guitars it just speaks to me. ADI top and mahogany back and sides. I remember when I bought it, I'd been searching for months for my "life guitar", I had been to shops all over the country, had played hundreds of guitars from all brands and price points, I came close to buying a Gibson songwriter that I found, it really stood out from the rest, but when I heard this particular Eastman e10ss being played, I instantly knew that was the one I had been searching for for so long, it was as if I'd won the lottery in my head. I'm a singer songwriter who mainly writes and plays folk rock songs, and you know when you have that sound you always picture from a guitar in your head, but you never find it, I found it.
I can only imagine with it being an ADI top too that it will open up even more over time. |

I understand what you're saying, Big E. Something special and sentimental about a guitar that has stuck with you through thick and thin for years/decades.

It's not much to look at but it does the job.

I wish I could get on with a 1 7/8" nut because the D1 Authentic I played recently completely rocked my world. It was so awesome.

Beautiful guitars displayed and shown in this thread!
Strangely, but my favourite rotates between the Yamaha FS5, Martin 00-15m and Faith Blood Moon. Currently, it's the FS5.
