I’ve been aware for many decades that the 2nd B string will sound flat if moving to E from C or G but I was unaware of the use of the term “equal temperaments”.

I’m sure I’m not alone in finding the “tutorial” useful.

I used to start with a G. Now it's just random.

I check the clarity of the harmonics first and tune it to them. Then----E!

Default What chord do you play first when testing out a guitar?

Ninth-position four-string A, open low-E and A strings - I can test frequency range/balance, harmonic content, tuning/intonation, sustain, upper-register action, and potential neck issues (twisting, back-bow, poor geometry) in 30 seconds or less with a couple slow strums, and quickly move on to the good stuff without wasting unnecessary time on the dogs...

That’s me but then I do try others
I I like to hear the open strings resonate
