Eastman SB series... probably sounds and plays better than a standard Les Paul too.

The Les Paul Standard and Studio are both weight relieved and it is normal to find examples in the seven pound range.

I really dig my Fano SP6....it's a love child between a Tele and a LP...and it weighs less than a LP for sure and still has a short scale....the P90 in the neck is awesome and if you turn the tone down on the bridge pickup, you'd never know you were playing a tele type pickup.....really incredible tones in every position on her.....I am a tele guy first - I have always enjoyed playing LPs, but they weigh too much for me and I sold an Epi LP recently for this reason....check out the SP6.......think you will like....

If a modern, weight relieved Les Paul is still too heavy, I would check out some similar style guitars from other manufacturers. If it's sound you are looking for, anything with a similar pickup configuration and wiring will get you 80% of the way there as long as the electronics are quality. You also want to make sure the pickups have the gain and tone qualities you are looking for.

The Eastman I mentioned is one piece of solid mahogany which is hand picked to be light. They don't make guitars over a certain weight. And they are phenomenal guitars... the level of a custom shop Gibson for the price of a non-custom shop:

Weights differ, even for the same model type of a particular guitar. Wood doesn't consistently have the same weight density, and of course there are various internal weight relief/chambering schemes.
There are subtleties that can be heard in some situations that make a Les Paul "sound like a Les Paul" but in the overall context of music they are small beans. Roughly speaking, pickups get yet you 90% there, and other things like scale length, control layout, bridge type etc get a guitar even closer. A classic answer to the OP's question is the Gibson SG which can have all the things other than the thicker body and maple cap which can tend to greater weight. Another is simply shopping for weight and not assuming that it's a Les Paul, so it must be heavy. Some Les Paul Junior designs have the same similarities the SG has, the other than the body thickness and maple cap things.

How about a DeArmond M-72?
I have one of these. Chambered body, so it's distinctly lighter than a regular Les Paul. Plus it has a tummy tuck. The original pickups are nice PAF clones.
