That sounds great! I think you have that Line 6 HX Stomp dialed in just right with Cuki's IR.

Hi there, Mickey! The truth is that I am tweaking, and getting closer to my unplugged acoustic sound. It's hard for me, but I'm working with Cuki on that! The result will be great, and I will share everything here, as soon as I finish it!

And the project is done! Cuki helped me A LOT!

What we did: mic used was a Neumann KMS105 (condenser handhelp vocal mic, but almost identical to the KM184). And I captured the sound with the Mic in a lot of positions. Cuki made the IRs, and I choose a nice one.

I used the HX Stomp to read the IR. I also used the HX Stomp to Eq (global and parametric), to eliminate a few frequencies. Then, I send the signal to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo, and the DAW used was Garageband.

In the GB, I used compression, reverb, a little saturation (Saturation Knob) and a little stereo effect (Ozone Imager 2). The recording get a little bleed from the vocal microphone, but it was little, compared to the overall acoustic signal. I can say that you are hearing about 80% of the pickup, and 20% of the Mic. And they are really similar.

I would like to thank Cuki for all the patience with me, and all the knowledge shared. You are awesome, my friend!

I hope you like!

Nice singing and playing, Rodrigo! I clicked on your video to listen to your guitar, but I found myself enjoying a good song. That’s what it’s all about! The guitar sounded like a well recorded mic’d guitar and there was nothing about it that distracted me from listening to your song. Your voice is the primary instrument and your guitar is backing you up and sitting in the mix where it should be. Your work and Cuki’s work has paid off nicely. Great job!

Note that 20% of mic bleed would make any pickup sound good. But at the end of the day, the whole recording works and it is hard to tell it's a piezo.

Thank you very much, Mickey! I'm really glad you liked it! It makes me really glad!

And, as Cuki, said, the bleeding microphone is an enhancement. I will record tomorrow just the plugged guitar, and compare the raw HFN signal to the Cuki's IR signal. It will be a fun comparison!
