Default New custom x20-6 woody ordered

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered another Emerald yesterday. I have been so thrilled by the x20-12 I purchased from the November Select series (kosipo) that I 'had to have' a 6 string to go with it. After watching Alistair's February veneer unboxing video and seeing the dark Pau Ferro I knew what I wanted. After speaking with Alistair I placed my order for an x-20 with the dark Pau Ferrro shown below, 22 frets,24.9" scale length, 1.75" nut, 2 3/16" bridge spacing, shamrock outline fretbaord 'inlays', anthem sl pickups . They are going to do line outlines of shamrocks at the standard fretboard dot locations with white enamel.
Now the wait!!

Sounds lovely. You might be the first person here to order inlays - bet you can't wait to see how this one turns out!

That's going to be really nice. Have you thought about a satin finish? Keep us posted...

I am not a fan of satin finishes. When I ordered a custom Lakewood years ago satin was there standard finish and I upgraded to high gloss. I like high gloss, especially with heavily figured wood. I think the gloss adds a depth to the figuring. Thats just me though. Interested to see what yours will look like

I actually agree with you. I think that grain will really pop with a high gloss finish...

Congrats on the order. Nice veneer and the inlay sounds really nice. I will watch for your eventual NGD post. Was there any discussion of expected completion date given limited operations in Donegal these days? Not that I'm getting antsy about my custom, just curious.

Congratulations on some nice decision making. Be careful if you go anywhere near Arizona with the guitar, they seem to end up in one place, surrounded by women and lakes.

So gentlemen. Yes this guitar is coming to Arizona. If there was ever a place that all carbon fiber guitars should go it is here. I am excited to be one of the first to go with fretboard inlays. I have been a PRS guy since they came out and the birds were so unique in their day. I even built my own tele and put inlays in it. After seeing the St Patty day series with the intricate inlays I know Alistair can do it. I can picture how they should look so I am looking forward to working with the Emerald team. As far as build time, who really knows with COVID-19, the economy etc. I was told 6 months. Trust me there will be a NGD post with pics when it is done. My real prayer is that when it is done my wife and I can safely travel to Ireland and stay the night at Emerald. I have promised Alistair a large bottle of GREAT quality Tequila if this can happen. He has promised to supply the limes. Only problem may be bringing in a 2.5 litre bottle of tequilla into Ireland (I do have a 1.75 liter bottle that my wife and could bring but this would mean less tequilla for Alistair). That being said I could fancy some Irish whiskey.

very nice! I have a similar one coming my way very soon - pao ferro x20 short scale. I'll share pics when it arrives - i have more sapwood in mine, but it might give you a very good idea of what yours will look like - minus the inlays, of course.

This thread reminds me of an old Jan and Dean song: Surf City...

Paraphrased... I got a 2020 Emerald and I call it a "Woody"...
