Default NGD! Farida OT-15

Well I have been looking for a less expensive alternative to a Martin 0-18 since I recently sold my Martin 00-18. I swore I would never buy another guitar without playing it, but I decided to take a chance with the good folks at Elderly Instruments. I’m so glad I did!

Wow! I wasn’t 20 seconds into playing it when I thought, “this sounds fantastic”. The fit and finish are quite good, not perfect, but quite good. This is a ALL SOLID guitar with Sitka top and genuine Mahogany back/sides. I can’t stop playing it. 14 fret 24.7 scale and 1 11/16 bone nut. Btw - I have been a 1 3/4 nut guy for nearly all my life. Recently I bought a GS Mini and found that my hands are adjusting. So the GS Mini and this Farida have opened up a whole other set of guitar options

What is most amazing is that the setup was absolutely perfect on the Farida. Action was nice and low and nut slots cut perfect too (not too high). I literally just polished it up, swapped strings for Elixir PB lights and it’s an old soul. Tuners are excellent too! Thoroughly pleased.

Yes - it is a brand new model. Kind of funny that these Elderly Farida models are generally going for the Gibson vibe, but this one seems to lean more toward the Martin camp (except for the pickguard). I thought about replacing the pickguard with something Martin-esque, but the current pickguard is growing on me. I think I should let it be it’s own thing.

Very nice. I wonder if they will offer this with the wide nut? I love my OT-22 wide and would add this smaller guitar to my stable if the 1 3/4" nut width was an option. Enjoy!
