Default Taylor 12 string

I own a Taylor 914ce that plays like a dream. What would be the equivalent model to look into of that quality for a Taylor 12 string?

I have never been a Taylor fan.... UNTIL.....A friend of mine in California ( Thanks Rumble) sold me a Taylor K62ce limited edition all Koa 12 string.
Very easy to play ....Concert size so easy to hold and a comfortable neck and fingerboard.
Excellent voice.....Clear, no excessive overtones.
A keeper, since everybody needs at least one 12 string.

Your 914ce is a rosewood Grand Auditorium body with 16' lower bout and 4 5/8" depth - I was going to suggest the slightly bigger Grand Symphony body with 16 1/4" lower bout and same 4 5/8" depth might be the better option for a 12-string but I can't find a rosewood 12-string in the current Taylor line-up.

If the Grand Orchestra size doesn't scare you with it's 16 3/4" lower bout and 5" depth then the 858 was the top line rosewood 12-string and the 458-R the rosewood 12-string bargain buy.

Check theses out, https://reverb.com/au/item/36970381-taylor-458e-r-used

.. and a very nice 855ce jumbo with 17" lower bout and 4 5/8 depth https://reverb.com/au/item/23480084-...NeFJdQrdTKcu1I

I seem to recall a couple years back them making a 12 sting in the 700 series that looked pretty nice.

... of course if you want the rosewood 12-string equivalent to your 914ce and are prepared to look outside the Taylor range .. easy .. the Guild F-512 sets the standard by which all 12-string guitars are measured.

Taylor has greatly reduced the variety of 12 string offerings in current production. There are some xx4 size models from the past and the current production 150 or 254 full scale, laminate models. They sound pretty good and are playable.

For current production, don't let the smaller size of the x52 or x62 grand concerts fool you. the 12 fret, 12 strings give more than you expect. a 362ce with the hog tog and tas blackwood body would be my personal choice.

I’ve had several nice 12 strings over the past fifty years or so. This is the only one I’ve kept for more than a few months. They usually give me joint issues, but not this one. It takes a little oomph to drive the top but, if you do, it sounds fantastic. Piano-like lows and shimmering highs. It’s from ‘98. It’s difficult to find koa like this nowadays.
