It's been a perfect day for a bit of picking on the porch

Fell in love with my Larrivee 00 all over again - jammed out with some old joe clarke on the porch....sounded banjo-ish. Perfect on this pre-Fall afternoon in NY!

Well, my "porch" is a patio that's at very close quarters with my neighbor's identical patios. But it's hot as blazes out there in the sun today, which was good because very few people around to be disturbed if they would have been, but bad because I could only run through a couple of the finger style bits I've been working on before I was just too freaking hot to stay sitting out there. But here's the spot where I tried, sitting on the little footstool... Maybe this evening when this is in the shade and it's cooled down some anyway...

I brought out my 000-18 and played for about an hour. It just happens to be a perfect day weather-wise here. I don't think I heard of this specific 'day' prior to this one and I'm thinking I'm gonna be playing more outside as the weather permits. I have a little music area in my basement which is where I almost always play. It's nothing fancy but it's a good place for my guitars and recording equipment. It was much more enjoyable playing outside with a nice cool breeze on a sunny day along with the shade the tree in front of my porch provides.

I am an Assistant Dean at a law school in the state that I live in and we are one of the few schools in the country that has a both a full-time day program and a weekend JD program so today a few of the students, a professor and I set up on the school's patio and played "Let It Be". It was a lot of fun and a great stress reliever for the law students who played and watched too!

I participated in this last year.
I may do it again this time but right now the temps here are almost 100*.
Perhaps later in the evening.

I was playing guitar on my neighbor's sports car, but he got mad. I tried to explain that today is "Play Music On The Porsche Day." No use.

I did last year and again this year. However, since I have a very small front porch I play on a bench under a shade tree right next to the porch. Also played on the patio in the backyard under the pergola.

Kinda warm in the afternoon on the front porch

But I have two decks in the back. Upper or Lower ? oh these decisions are killing me
