Hi Eric,
I too took the plunge into the Harp Guitar world in December.
I bought a Holloway HG Model 5 Natural.
http://www.hollowayharpguitars.com/

Recently got my electronics set-up all squared away. Sounding good.

I will agree about the learning curve. Pretty steep, but slow progress
has really been rewarding.

Stephen Bennett just released two Harp Guitar instructional DVD's.
Available at his web-site, the Harp Guitar Music page of Harpguitars.net.
and Truefire. He plays in a different sub tuning (Bennett tuning=high to low
G, D, C, B, A, G. which requires a different set of strings)

Lots of fun and potential, just need to find the time....

Mike

Hi Eric,
Went with K&K. After picking Andy McKee's brain about the electronics in
his Greenfield HG. The neck got a standard K&K Pure Mini. The subs got
a custom undersaddle FanTaStick p/up. (custom because of the non standard
string spacing on the subs) Wired in stereo, and out to a D-Tar Solstice preamp.
Since the Solstice is two channel, it gives me volume and tone
controls for each p/up - channel.

Got to run it through its paces after church last Sunday. Once I got things
dialed in, it sounded great.

It was funny how many congregation members came up and asked what the
HG was. Be prepared for them, as they will ask.
