Thanks!

I think and hope you will like it. It has a very balanced and rich tone. Definitely a value-for-money MIJ guitar!

I played an FS5 today at Sam Ash Raleigh. All I can say is, "WOW!"

Now I'm really jealous of the OP!!

Haha! Good one!

Just curious, why didn’t that guitar go home with you?

It is the same wood combi as your Eastman?

I know, I know... it probably should have come home but I was rushed and there was no pricetag. Besides, I like to agonize over my purchases, especially when the budget is tight [emoji6]

The Eastman has sapele back and sides while the Yammy is mahogany. I much prefered the Yamaha's satin finish and its tone was richer than the Eastman's. Don't get me wrong - the Eastman is a fine guitar indeed, but that Yamaha really is somethung special.

Wish they made this new Yamaha in a dread cutaway.

These guitars are nothing short of fantastic. They stack up incredibly well to just about anything I have played.

Congratulations to the OP. Yours is a beauty!

Thank you! Coming from you confirms (what I feel) that this guitar’s tone is as good as many other guitars costing much more.

Got mine yesterday. Love the guitar - the pickguard, not so much and plan to swap it out. Pics will follow.

Congrats!

I’m on the fence with the pickguard. Don’t want to risk spoiling the top.

Enjoy your guitar!

After playing it for sometime, tell us how it stacks up against your Taylor 314CE-V.

I have also just gotten a new FS5. Action was pretty good but still needed some tweaking for good playability. The sound is well balanced with nice sustain.
