Default Considering a Composite Acoustics 12-string

I'm considering getting a Composite Acoustics 12-string. My background is primarily in acoustic guitar, but I've never owned a 12-string. A friend of mine wants to trade me for it, so I'm not too concerned about the current value. I feel like it's a fair deal. It is the model that has the offset sound-hole. I called MacNichol's shop the other day, and was told it was the only one CA made, so maybe I don't have to narrow it down.

I have been fascinated by carbon guitars for a while, and this opportunity came up, and I think I'll have a hard time passing it up.

I am wondering if anyone here owns this guitar, or has played it, and what your experience has been. Anything you can tell me about your experience would be really great. I'm also curious if it could be strung as a 6-string without messing up the relief too much. I don't I will play like this primarily, but it would be nice if it were an option. I have searched the forums, and people's opinion of the guitar seems to be pretty positive, but I'd love to have some specific feedback.

Thank you so much for your responses. If I go through with it, I'll be sure to post some pics.

I would really like to try the CA 12-string. I really appreciated the narrow neck of the Ovation 12 I had for years. I've got a RainSong jumbo 12 now, which I like, but the neck is awfully wide for my short fingers. I do believe the CA 12 used the same width neck as their 6-string models, which could be an issue for some people (especially if you want to play fingerstyle on it).

I don't know if you could remove the octave strings and have it work as a 6-string. The relief will change some, might not be too much. Unlike wood 12-string guitars, it will probably at least sound okay as a 6-string since they don't have to overbuild CF guitars to handle the extra tension.

I'm a big CA fan. I'd really like to seem them reintroduce the 12-string model.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm really excited to check out the guitar, and if the neck/relief/action looks good, I think I'm going to get it. I'll be sure to post some pics when I have it.

With Rainsong out of the market now, it may make sense. Still one of the uglier 12s ever produced? Sorry. Offset sound on the Dred shape doesn't work for me. Maybe Peavey will go at it differently.
