+3 for Sony MDR-7506 - neutral color to the sound, you'll hear what you're doing for real. Comfortable for 15 min sessions that turn into a couple of hours, and priced right.

I think the best thing to do ( if you can ) is bring the guitar to try out with the phones. With the heavy bass boost - I would stay away from any phones that advertise “ bass enhancement. In this case - if you are looking for over the ears I would be careful as some of my “ best “ headphones for audiophiles were the worst for the silent guitar. I have an old travel folding pair from Radio Shack gave me the best balanced sound ..... go figure
