Cool 2005 Kenny Hill Hauser '37 Classical Brazilian RW / Euro Spruce - SOLD

SOLD

---

Hi everyone,

Offering for sale a knockout Hauser '37 from the Hill workshop. The Brazilian rosewood on this one is outrageous, and the Euro spruce top has a nice bearclaw figure in it. The French polish is done beautifully and makes the woods glow. Everything about this one says fine classical guitar.

It is meticulously modeled after Segovia's Hauser, which is currently on display at the Met. A few neat design points:

-V headstock joint
-Radius in the top- Achieved by putting a radius in the underside of the bridge, and then "pressing" in the top to attach.

Barring a very small mark in the back that may be either a surface crack or deep scratch, the guitar overall is in very good condition with little wear. The mark doesn't follow grain lines and is near the center strip, so it's hard to tell. To me it is hardly noticeable (and hard to photograph) and I don't think it would bother anyone, but it's there. More importantly, the guitar plays and sounds beautifully with a big, full, open, nuanced sound.

Aside from the top-shelf wood selection, this one came from the workshop with Alessi tuners and also includes a custom Cedar Creek case.

It's mostly the realities of lack of space connected with city apartment life that motivates the sale; I personally find it to be a definitive example of what a traditional classical guitar is, and would not be unhappy to keep it if not just for the wood. But, I'm finding I'm really just playing guitars with cutaways, and I would be happy to see it go to a good home where it can be appreciated and played. To me it is a special guitar.

Thanks for looking and any questions please let me know!

OMG what a beautiful guitar. I love the top. Love love love the back/sides. Too bad I'm like you - looking to thin the herd and get a classical w/ cutaway.

Someone will be very happy with this guitar. Kenny Hill has a stellar reputation for good reason.

GLWYS!
