Default ipad music

my wife bought me an ipad for xmas for me to use instead of my paper songs. she says all gthe cool kids do it. so, is there an app or something where I can find these songs or any guidance of what I need to research. I just don't know where to look. edit: what I would like is a list of songs that I can save and practice from. I have been using guitar tabs a to z and printing off the song.

You can use those sites. Download Dropbox onto your computer and import the song pages from your computer into Dropbox. Then you can import from Dropbox into Unrealbook (or similar) and you will have an organized iPad songbook to play from and build to. Or, if you're not into the latest technology, you can simply take a picture of the sheet music and have them on your iPad. Barbaric but doable.

Check out Onsong. Been using it for years for keeping hundreds of chord charts at my fingertips. Great for live performances. Super simple to add songs from many different sources.

I'll second the recommendation for Onsong. It's the specific app I bought my iPad for. The app costs $25 but is worth every penny of it! You can use a blutooth footpedal to change songs and scroll if you want. You can also set up autoscrolling too. It lets you organize song into songbooks and setlists.

One more vote for OnSong. It is the easiest and most accessible app to use. Well worth the one time $25 payment.

Onsong is great, you will have to convert your paper into PDF file format. Once you get it all squared away you will never look back.
Using dropbox as storage for your files is a great idea and you can easily share them with others.
You will need a holder for the ipad and you can use a bluetooth foot pedal to scroll through pages. Welcome to the future.

I third the OnSong recommendation. Flexible, easy-to-use, it's great. I use it for lyrics, chords, set-lists etc. Never needed a Bluetooth footswitch, 95% of my stuff fits on one page so no need to scroll, for the other 5% I just set a scrolling speed for each individual song and touch the down-arrow to start it scrolling. Easy-Peasy, and worth every penny.

I'll echo this recommendation. You can add from many on line sources and Dropbox, etc and import your own docs too.

I use SongBook Chordpro on my Ipad, and I like it a lot. Does storing, scrolling, transposing, etc....everything that I have listed for OnSong. This one costs about $7 or so from Apple app store

+1 OnSong with...AirTurn (a page turner). I play live 2x per week. Perfect troublefree app and pedal.

H, you guys are drawing me in.

I have all my songs on MS Word docs -1 page each in 14pt printed to A4.

Is there a tablet and an easy way to get my - 200 odd songs onto it and displayed at the same size?

Can you design playlists from your bank of files ?

Word Files (on PC)>Dropbox>OnSong (on iPad).

Set font size (and other useful parameters) as required in OnSong.

Set up, amend, and store set-lists in OnSong.

Easy-Peasy!

PM me if you want to know more, Andy.

Many use Onsong, but my personal choice is an app called Setlists. You would also need a page turning device. I currently use a device called a Firefly which works, as they all do, by Bluetooth pairing with your Ipad.

With respect to adding your songs, you can find what you need online, cut and paste it to the program and you're good to go.

All of my songs (800+) are on MSWord. Most are 14pt. Some 16. Songs with few lyrics are 12.

As Jaybee said, "Word Files (on PC)>Dropbox>OnSong (on iPad)". As far as the display, with the iPad Onsong app you can zoom in and have the lyrics fill the display with 2 fingers! Also scroll songs with a lot of lyrics and set the time of the scroll to fit the pace of the song.

Also, buy nothing less than a 32gig iPad. Mine is 16gig and plenty for 800+ songs duplicated, but I wish I had 32 or 64 gig to easily have room for doing video and video editing.
