The closest thing that comes to mind are bass ukulele strings (sometimes called U Bass), which are often unwound and made of various materials like polyurethane. I've never seen such a set for guitar, though. I know people who are new to nylon guitars are often puzzled by the wound basses ("I thought you said these were nylon strings."), but in this case the inner core material is nylon or some other non-metallic material.

Well, I could be wrong, but I was pretty sure that they are on the market somewhere. I saw someone playing them once on YouTube I think, but I can't remember when or who. I seem to remember that the bass strings were black nylon, and the others were the usual clear colour.

Weed-whacker strings?

Some guys use ‘em for cigar-box “bass” guitars.
