Nice pictures. They look similar to the ones found on Michael's website.

I'd love to hear your impressions of the guitar if you had the opportunity to play it.

There's also no mention of what model it is. I suppose that is an OM?

Duh...

On Michael's site he calls it the Placencia OM -- I get so easily confused these days...

What a spectacular back.

I'd also love to hear hands-on experiences and tonal comparisons. I've long wanted to check out Michael's guitars. Honestly, the aesthetic hasn't always appealed to me, but for some reason, this one just really is spot-on for me.

Michael is a great guy and easy to work with.

I actually have an LS redwood/cocobolo up for sale after a buyer fell through earlier this year, but will list it up on the proper channel. If interested, just drop me a PM too.

Hi Brett...
When I first met Michael and was deciding if I wanted to commission one, the pictures of the cutaway models didn't appeal to me, and one morning I walked into his shop and there was a cutaway sitting on a stand, and it blew me away.

His guitars look better in real life than in pictures, and I've played over 40 of them and liked all but 2 (and I didn't hate them, and liked them both much better later as their sound evolved).

The 'art' in his guitars is amazing in person, and the tone, resonance, responsiveness, playability, projection and volume are magic.

I haven't played as many as Larry has but I'm continually amazed at Michael's creations. I don't care how long it takes but my next guitar will be a Bashkin.

I've been a fan of Bashkin ever since I played this guitar at Healdsburg in 2009. I played his larger bodied SJ last year and was really taken with it. Michael Bashkin makes some of the best I've played.
