Great version. Nice to hear it done a little differently in that tuning!

Default Video/audio recording

Very nice. ! I am recently getting into DADGAD, so that really caught my interest. I've learned Wayfaring Stranger and love how it sounds and feels.!

My main question is -what set up/ equipment was used to record that video ?? Camera? How was your sound fed into that video - just love the quality of it and your bass strings / percussive hits/ strums sound awesome on there. I hope you can share a little on how that was done.

Thanks: Charles

Thanks for listening/watching!
I use a ZOOM Q8 camera, with a mix of the camera's stereo X/Y mic
and a direct line from the sound system.
This time the configuration was Taylor ES-1 pickup into Fishman artist amp,
(tilted back at my feet to double as monitor), XLR from Fishman's mix output to a channel on the mixer (Allen & Heath zedi-10fx), then 1/4" from the mixer aux output to one of the camera's 2 direct inputs.
The mixer is set flat, with all eq & effects from the Fishman. I used some delay, maybe a bit much, and my usual mid-cut/slight bass boost eq. The camera mic is on 7 (with windscreen) and is hearing the main output (single Electro-Voice zlx 112p) and the Fishman, along with audience sound. The direct input is set at 5. Sometimes the aux channel isn't free so I'll run the direct from the EV's out or the Fishman's out. Good luck with your DADGAD adventures, the "other standard tuning! Jimi played this in Eb so I'm a 1/2 step low here. The Q8 gets great sound, always helpful to mix that camera mic to buffer the direct input's less natural sound.

Hey thanks for all that info about recording!! Again, nice playing. I use a Fishman Artist as well. After struggling with a way to get good monitoring at my solo gigs, trying a small Kustom floor wedge, and amp / PA placement, etc. I think an ideal way for me is to use the Artist AS my floor monitor - directly in front of me, on a low stand at my feet - slight angle upward. For PA from there, running the guitar and mic lines out to an Alto Trouper PA. In effect, the Artist give me great monitor sound - without feedback so far at home! Is that similar to what you described with your Fishman at your feet.?

About my favorite piece of music done in a way I’ve never heard it done before. Awesome! What’s up with those diners talking over THAT? Would they talk over their preacher?

Yep, pretty much the same, using the Fishman as both guitar amp & monitor.
the drawback of the Fishman is it's lower wattage doesn't always cut through a loud room that well for monitoring. my plan is to start using my 1,000 watt EV zlx 112p as a floor monitor, have the Fishman as just the guitar amp, and add 2 more powered speakers on poles. (I'm reinventing my system after years with a Mackie 808s, 2 Soundtech passive speakers, and Peavey floor monitor). But for now the Fishman does alright, and can be used as a straight monitor for the whole mix as well by running into an input from my mixer's aux out when I have other musicians with me.

Nice rendition.
Apparently those folks in the background fail to comprehend they're in the presence of genius.
