What a gorgeous back & sides set! Interesting how it looked more reddish wetted down before finishing, but more golden brown under finish. I also really like the ebony bindings.

Well, this one has come back from being finished by Tony Ferguson. Man he does beautiful work!

Put it together over the weekend. Still needs a final setup but I'm really happy with the way this one turned out.

Really like Sapele. Makes a great 12 string too. Pommele Sapele is the poor man's "The Tree"...not too cheap in it's own right when you can get it.

Hey Neil,
The guitar looks GREAT. That Sapele is really something, the sides in particular look like "The Tree". When's Gary picking it up?

Your comment about flaws becoming "charming" is perfect, reminds me of the Doobie Brothers album "What were once vices are now habits"!

Tony really is something on the finishing front. Every time I play my Concert, I just marvel at how great it sounds and looks.

Jimmy

Hey Jimmy

Gary picked it up last night. Hopefully he'll record a little something on it and post it here.

The Pictures are nice but don't really do justice to the depth in the Sapele quilting. This guitar has amazing sustain, string definition and sparkle across the spectrum. Overall it is very comfortable to play as my shoulder sits lower than on a larger instrument. The fit and finish are great, a very professional job. Now Lets go play it!

Default gorgeous wood

WOW !!! That quilted sapele is the nicest wood I've ever seen.

That's my new favorite.

So, that is the new wood for my someday BTO dream guitar.

BTW, how is quilted formed in the tree?

Just a quick update on this one...doubleG who owns this guitar has posted a new song he wrote and recorded on this guitar. Pretty beautiful, I think.

Thought I'd share the link.
