Default Practicing, playing with different sizes

I asked this question elsewhere and got no responses. Maybe I'm the only one having this problem. When practicing, scales for example, does anyone else experience difficulty when switching from, say, a 410 to a Baby and back? Is this something to work through or is it better to avoid it in practice by sticking with one size guitar? Any opinions would be appreciated.

yes and i have purposely purchased guitars with a minimum of 1 7/8 inch neck at the nut just for that reason. scales are much easier when you have fairly consistant fret boards to work with. I have a 712ce, 855, and NS32ce all with the same wide fret board.

I notice a difference a little switching from my 12 string to my 6......and to be honest when I play my 12 string for like an hour and then go play my 6.......I'm a lot better, I can hit the notes and hold them longer...

Yeh, I find if I play any sort of classical (my one at home has a 50mm wide neck !!) and then play my 810 my fingers feel like sausages- I just can't place them on the fret board properly. I now try to avoid playing my classical when I know I've got to play my Taylor.

I can switch back and forth (Baby <--> 815c <--> Fiddle <--> Mandolin <--> classical) without really noticing the difference. Not sure why. Maybe 34 years of playing?

I notice a difference between my 1 7/8 inch neck and my 1 11/16 inch neck on my drednaught. I also notice a difference when I switch from my 1 7/8 inch neck to the 1 3/4 inch. After I play the second guitar for 20-30 minutes my hand or brain seems to adjust and I don't notice it any more.

That's one of the main reasons why I bought a nylon string guitar (NS 62ce). My hands are small and I like the sound of a nylon guitar, especially amplified, playing the style of Wes Montgomery or Charlie Byrd. With my Yamaha classic, it was very difficult to play some songs and chord progressions. Now, with my Taylor, I can do it!
