I will check out the Pono.

I have been considering Martin tenor, about $500 or a bit less, but I think some have reservations about price v quality.

Another question:

Do you find it difficult to return to playing guitar after ukulele?

Although my time is limited with arthritis, I do not want to stop playing, yet I was surprised, after 2 straight days of Ukulele playing, how 'difficult' it was to play guitar again!

PS: I found "the ukulele site" with a PONO MT - MAHOGANY TENOR for around 350. It is nice looking, and the video clip shows the soft sound with the description of it having some volume (a plus for me).

I do not find the transition difficult. When I go from guitar to my concert Fluke, it takes a while, but I can go from my Pono MT to guitar and back with ease.
