Just dragged the file into the program and it's robot software and it just does the rest. Sort of like the AAMS program but better.

martin, no offense but you seem like a cat after some catnip, kinda all over the place.
Throwing money at all these robot/software mastering stuff. Either they have a generic end result such as final volume and eq and fit your recording to it, or they have generic settings to add to your recording. Both are pretty bad methods of mastering. Considering you are working with some good equipment. And how exactly are they paying for themselves after one recording? There are no samples of before and after at equal volumes to truly get a sense of any difference. Which this is all fine, go to it and run everything through tests. What most of the people here are saying is, take a little of the time you spend running ab tests of speakers and auto masterers, and just learn some mastering basics, you'll learn alot and have a better understanding than putting all your hopes in an auto masterer, which is a real waste of time in the long run. |

At least take the time to adjust the before and afters to the same volume prior to posting them.

Nope. I'm not going to adjust before and after volumes, because that's part of the processing. I posted the original track and the mastered track. The recordings show what the mastering effect has on the volume. To adjust the volumes so they are the same defeats the purpose of showing what the mastering program does to the file.
Here's another one I just mastered with LANDR. Before mastering, the synth bass was too loud and would distort. After mastering it was fine. The overall volume came up a bit and the bass was turned down. Perfect !! http://www.soundclick.com/player/sin...&q=hi&newref=1

How is it paying for itself ?? How much would it cost me to ship my files to a mastering house, how much time is involved ?? One week, two weeks, three weeks ?? Being able to send to an online mastering service and get a finished product in just a few minutes is a complete blessing. Ya I could spend hours fiddling around with various plug-ins to get a mastered sound, and you know what, it still wouldn't be right...Audition has plenty of mastering tools, but the LANDR is so much simpler, and I get a finished product in just a few minutes. Looking at the mastered files in Audition, they look perfect, everything looks and sounds right. Plus I don't have to deal with some obnoxious sound engineer who wants to criticize every piece of music he hears. Another fun fact...so what is my alternative ?? ozone ?? For $250 bucks ??

iZotope just sent me a package deal for $599.
I checked some price from audio houses for mastering and were looking at $50-$100 per song. For me the LANDR package makes the most sense. $40 buck for unlimited mastering projects for a year..... I did 4 projects just tonight !!

You seem to think mastering is for fixing volume? Volume can be adjusted at many times in the process. How about during recording when it counts, how about after recording with the fader volume.
Why do you have to rely on the mastering stuff to fix volume problems? it doesn't make sense? |

There's a lot more going on than just fixing volume. There's EQ adjustments, multi-band compression. stereo enhancement, aural exciter, limiter...but most importantly, the parameters are created by somebody else. Yes I can run it thru Audition's mastering tools, which I have done in the past with mixed results, but this is more precise. I get different results which is a good thing. And for $40 bucks A YEAR, it's a bargain.
Last night I ran 4 songs into the program, and now have 4 finished tracks. The results on each track are very good. The bottom line is "Howzit sound?" I think it sounds pretty good. Next stop, Tunecore.
