This dread is dark and dazzling. It’s an aurora borealis of tone. The bass hits you first, deep and wide as the night sky, then the highs start lighting things up. Its “scooped” voice is the kind of valley that you’d feel confident pitching camp in. It’s forgiving and majestic, with a dramatic blossom that’s slow on the fade.

The grain on the top is dead-straight with some subtle striation and a gentle, three-dimensional glow. It has been “Thermo-cured” to replicate the sonic qualities of old wood. The rosewood back and sides are likewise even and straight as they come. Some great care was taken matching this top with this back. Although totally different species, they look like they could be distant cousins.

It feels solid and responsive. The sustain is fantastic, allowing you to stack overtones atop one another like so many unique snowflakes. The neck has a familiar vintage feel while proving a bit faster than average. This is the kind of instrument you could get a lot of beautiful work done with.
