Default New builds for US shows

Work got a bit sidetracked in the last few days but I managed to squeeze in some late nights...
The Columbia top ready to be voiced

And the backstrip on the Thames prepped for the back braces. I went for a cedar strip to match the top

The ribs for the Columbia get some double kerfed boxwood linings to keep the light color theme even on the inside. You can also spot the solid reinforcement for the Ryan style bevel

On the Thames I went for mahogany liners and a Laskin style bevel... it’s the first time I tackle a Laskin bevel... fingers crossed

Fitting the top to the ribs

And the top is on. Tomorrow I’ll do some extra voicing and then the box will be closed!

And bevel prep on the Thames... cutting those channels by hand was... fun!

It’s a good thing that you have a player’s fingernails...

Well, I kinda stopped posting in progress photos as frantically finishing the guitars for the shows. Both shows were a blast! Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table and tried the guitars. The Columbia baritone found a good home and the cedar-koa Thames is now available @ Emerald City Guitars in Seattle! See you all next time!

That’s strange, the video shows up just fine on both my phone and Mac...

I wish I had recorded Tony McManus playing Bach on it @ LaConner, it was mind blowing!

Jmat, thanks for trying the guitar! I wish you had told me you were in the Agf, it’s always nice to put a face to a name (or online user!)
