Default Heritage 575

I have my eye on a used Heritage 575 archtop for $1000. Does that sound like a good deal? Love the sound and feel unplugged. Going for a plugged test ride tonight or tomorrow

Can you say "steal" - IME about 35-40% what they generally sell for, and made in the old Gibson factory the way Gibsons used to/should be made (by some of the same people); quite frankly, if everything else is OK I'd take it even if the electronics are iffy - at that price you can afford to replace them and still come out ahead of the game...

In my experience Heritage archtops are the best guitar they make. And as you say, even if the electronics are dodgy, he would still come out ahead. The pickups they used for awhile, the Schallers, were not that great. But a good set of PAF types, like Duncan Seth Lovers, which Heritage went to later, would sound great in a H575.

Look it over carefully for cracks or other damage. Make sure the neck is correct and intonated fine as you play up towards the body. Tap for loose braces.
If all is good and you still don't buy it, give me a PM.

If it's in decent condition, grab it. Heritage makes very nice guitars.

That's a steal. 1500 is a steal, really.

Be sure to look it over. My main guitar for the past 7 years has been a 575...I see no reason why it wouldn't be my main guitar for the rest of my days.

Hey pdid,

Yes. That’s a great price. A “very good” condition used 575 generally sells for
1500-2200. Heritage makes some fine guitars.
I’ve owned several, including a fantastic 575. I’m currently looking for a “sweet 16”.
If there are no issues with the guitar, by all means buy it! Or pass it to one of us!

I brought it home. A little bit of rash on the back side but plays like a champ. The neck pick up has a lot of power to it. The bridge not so much bass. Love the feel.

A few minutes with a screwdriver will take care of any pickup-to-pickup/string-to-string balance problems - in the meantime use it well, often, and LOUD...

Congratulations! Sounds like you got a smokin' deal! What is the finish (color)?

Ooooh, which sunburst? Heritage pretty much sprays the best bursts out there, or at least they did, pre-shakeup/modernization...we'll have to see what the new stuff looks like.

We're going to need a picture
