Hi guys,

I had the opportunity to test out and review a Valeriano Bernal guitar. Flamenco and classical performances included Enjoy!

Interesting. Did you add any effects to the audio?

The guitar's body depth is shallower like a typical flamenca?

Hey mate! Yes so I basically always just add a touch of reverb to the recording. Nothing more than that. Funnily enough, I just feel that in Audacity (what I record with), when you add a tiny bit of reverb, to me it actually sounds closer to what I hear from the guitar in reality. Recording things dry with my USB mic just never really matches my perception of the genuine sound of the guitar. Maybe I just need to invest in a better quality microphone though.

In terms of body depth, I would say it was about average. Not more shallow or more larger than normal. For me it was very comfortable, personally I don't like shallow guitars very much - so this felt spot on for me!

Thanks for checking out the video

Got it. So you added enough reverb to match actual in-person tonal characteristics.

That was why I was curious about the tone and the body depth. It struck me as having qualities that were less dry than a typical flamenca negra (not that they're usually dry to even start with ... from my experience). Thus far, I've seen those qualities in flamencas that are a little deeper in body depth although it can also be affected by other build factors.

Good video! Thanks for posting!
