Default Flatpicks On Stage

Please nobody flame me because I'm a sensitive sort - For the past two years I've velcro'ed my flatpicks to the body of my Dread. It's as convenient as heck. When playing with the band, I have to switch back and forth between fingerpicking and flatpicking sometimes three or four times in a single song.

The only guitar that has this is the 110e - Don't worry there is no velcro attached to the 814ce or the K Yairi, but it's one of the things that adds a level of practicality to the beater. Other guitarists do make faces at me though. Where do you guys put picks during your gigs or church sets?

My microphone stand has a pick holder attachment . . . or I keep my picks in my pocket.

While I will acknowledge the "ick factor", I just give the pick a lick and stick it to the treble side of the lower bout. Stays there all night. A quick wipe cleans it right up afterward.

"hey Denny, can I borrow a pick?" ... "sure, here" ... "uh ... no thanks!"

Not something I'd do but if it pleases you, who's to disagree with your methods? You bought the guitar and if you want to stick things on it, or write on it, pull the pickguard off, or stick on an armrest, that's up to you.

V-Picks stick to my hand even better than my BC's, yet occasionally I'll drop one practicing. If I'm performing I have a rubber pick holder on my mic stand that's easily within reach.

Your guitar is.... your guitar. No one should flame you for anything you do with your guitar(s). Years back I would put a short section of narrow two-sided tape to do similar. Now I just put it in the corner of my mouth if I have to switch for a little. Singing is still possible this way.

Occasionally you come across a gem, that one guitar related trick you've never heard of that's brilliant, thanks Denny!

I've got a pick holder for my mic stand but, if I have to change from picking to finger picking in the middle of a song, I'll either palm the pick or slide against the inside of my right cheek...

I never have to bother with a strap because I Velcro my guitar to my shirt. :-)

Instead of the guitar, why not velcro to your strap?

That's what I use as well. Only about four dollars.
