Default Rim almost done

After making a mold I laminated the sides with a layer of Cuban mahogany inside and some very pretty indian rosewood on the outside. Linings are laminated

Here it is next to a martin dreadnought neck thai I'm working on to show scale.

Nice idea for a new model...

I nominate the name NanoKin for this new model - the "nano" for obvious reasons and the "Kin" doing double duty to identify it as a Kinnaird and also as a synonym for friend - hence very small Kinnaird and also very small friend.

Smile Nanokin...

Nanokin! I like it.

John, can you mess with this little box to get it to E? Longer neck, I wager???

Perhaps this can be your travel axe size? Now that no one can go anywhere...

Cue up raucous laughter...

Aren't you glad you work from the shop on your property!!!

I have been playing all four of our Customs daily and reveling in the ease, TONE, and VOLUME!!! As well as your BEAUTIFUL woods and workmanship.

Thank You Sensi

Everyone stay well play pretty and have fun

Cheers and Salud!

Paul

That is a clever name. Consider this I will.

Paul absolutely nothing is "standard" with you. Always thinking outside the "box" you are. (Channeling Yoda this morning. Too many days already in social distancing)

Regular scale, E bass, longer neck would require neck attachment at higher frets like 16 or perhaps higher to keep the bridge off the bottom of the lower bout. That in itself would have some advantages

Possibly Kinnano in Yoda-speak?

I've thought a few times about picking up something like the Ibenez EWP14 A tuned Piccolo to try out since I play so often capoed at the fifth or seventh fret.

Smile Social distancing

"Channeling Yoda this morning. Too many days already in social distancing"

I am done calling it social distancing!

From now on we are "ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE!"

Sounds way better to me. Like John's instruments!

Off to play one now!

Paul

The Mini-Kinny looks pretty cool. I’ve got a couple A-A tuned small
Acoustics and love them. So fun.

This is fun, bro. Taking a cue from Martin guitars, who named their largest guitar "Dreadnought" after the largest battleship of the era, you could continue the nautical theme? Only in reverse, such as:
Kayak...Dinghy...or my favorite, Jon Boat. (Get it? Jon...?...oh well)

Like Paul would say, have fun.

Steve
