I've been working through Tony McManus' new course on there 'Celtic Journeyman' really enjoyed it so far.

Would love if I could get Truefire's content (a lot more depth on fingerstyle/ acoustic players) on a platform like artistworks website (actual video feedback from teachers.) Maybe one day.

I like courses with rhythm and lead concepts taught over the same grooves.

How are you finding the Tony McManus course?
I've got all his DVDs, but the Truefire course looks more indepth.

Look no further than AGF's own Little Toby Walker! Incredible country blues guitarist and a fantastic teacher with really reasonably priced lessons (there's even a sale on at the moment)! No affiliation here, just a really happy customer who has learned a lot from Toby's 'E-pack' and will be ordering the 'A-pack' soon!

I'm really enjoying it but haven't tried any of the DVDs so not sure how much overlap.

It's split in two parts, the first is kind of the building blocks of Tony's approach to playing Celtic music on guitar, right hand (triplets with fingers and thumb, frailing.) left hand (hammering and pulling) a little theory/ harmonic infrastructure (harp scales on open strings) and rhythm (jig time etc.) and then the second half is him walking through 6 (maybe it's 7?) tunes.

I had only really just cracked into it when I posted above but have worked through most of the material now, I'd say the best thing about it is the tunes are really well chosen so I find myself going back to the 'building block' material to practice the technique exercises then using it in context in a particular tune, it's a fun way to learn.

Make's me want to get some skype lessons set up with him.

I have even engaged one of the Truefire teachers for one on one Skype lessons - Taken my guitar skills from around 15% to 80% in quick time...
Can you describe the skills you think represent 100%?

They already have this - check out the workshops and classrooms. I have done a workshop and it was great. Personalized video feedback from the instructor every week for 8 weeks. I did Jason Loughlin's Major Pentatonic workshop. Really learned a lot.

I just signed up and ordered 1-2-3 Bluegrass. With the sale and the free truefire cash they give you I think I paid $10.

I watched the sample clips and thought it was worth the money. I am actually downloading the second half as I type this.

I am already wishing they had more bluegrass courses to buy

I see they also have a Uke for guitar players course I may look into next.
