Default Mold on guitar I just bought, should I be worried about my other guitars?

I bought a used acoustic guitar that was shipped to me today. Only after half a day of playing it did I decide to take a look inside of it, only to find white spots that looked like mold. Decided to take a better look at the inside of the case and saw what was unmistakably mold. I just now asked to return it.

My question though is I've been playing this guitar in my room for half a day and I keep my other guitars in the room as well. I also played the moldy guitar back to back with my other acoustic guitar. The mold is on the inside and not on the fretboard so I shouldn't have made any direct contact with it, but I'm getting paranoid. Do I need to worry about spores having been spread out and taking hold on my other guitars? I also have carpet in the room.

If I should worry then what should I do to make sure this doesn't happen.

Thanks

Mold spores are in the air, everywhere, all the time. It takes prolonged moisture to get them to grow. As long as you keep surfaces dry, you wont get mold growth. Perhaps that guitar had a leaky humidifier or some other source of water long enough for mold to get established.

Thanks guys. Yeah a bit after I posted I realized there's probably mold spores everywhere all the time already. Still gonna make sure the room get lots of UV in the morning though, just to make me feel a little better. And I'll gladly take the coronavirus over mold on my guitars.

Welcome to the AGF and your first post!

Just keep your guitar room climatized and not overly humid (mold loves humidity).

Do you have pics of the mold in the guitar and the case?

Really? Google mold and learn something. Mold doesn't work that way. At all.

Ummm...No...No...I don't think you really would, and I hope you were just kidding. The mold is not ever likely to bring you to meet your maker.

Covid=19 most certainly could...and would...if given half a chance with you.

Yes, focusing on being around to play guitars is advisable ;-0

The guy was just asking a question. He’s obviously quite concerned, so perhaps you could cut him some slack? So concerned that he probably also googled would be my guess...
