LaBella also makes a flatwound set that's somewhat heavier, more like a medium-gauge acoustic 12-string set - might be a good match if you're looking to get a "woodier" tone from your full-hollow:

How do the flats effect the tone of a 12 string?

Same as they do on any other electric guitar (and highly recommended if you don't already have them on your 5420/5622) - if you like George Harrison's 1964 - early 1965 12-string tone you'll probably like the Pyramids, if you're looking for something more in the Roger McGuinn vein I'd stay with roundwounds; BTW one advantage of flatwounds - a significant one if you're using a 12-string - is that you can drop the action much lower than with roundwounds, so if you didn't come up playing the old Black Diamond bridge-cable strings (as I did) and/or have any physical limitations they may be right up your alley...

I appreciate the heads up on that. I will consider it on my next string change. As of right now, the action is perfect and I am enjoying the tone. This really is a good sounding 12 string!

This was first thought when I saw the OP "Hey, Mike Nesmith-alike." I wasn't even aware of this current model being out there. Not sure how much Mike actually got recorded with a Gretsch 12, but of course visually it was all over TV on the Monkees show.

Very nice! A 12 has an addictive sound that adds to a song in ways you don't expect. You've inspired me to dig out my inexpensive (but surprisingly good) Agile 12-string electric. Once I find it, I'm going to restring it and give it a workout.
