Default “Dreamcatcher” by Andy McKee on a Beneteau SJ

Hey all,

This is a song that’s resonated with me since high school, one of the tunes I dared not touch until recently. Think 7 years was a long enough wait. The new Beneteau really loves playing this as well, given the longer scale length is best suited for dropped tunings.
I love the way this song flows and the chord voicings Andy chose. Certain sections I chose to zoom in on have very clever syncopated picking patterns too, Andy is a genius! Hope you enjoy.

Very well done, Dustin!

I can see why it would take you 7 years to get up the courage to chase after that one. That is a challenging piece! Good for you!

And congrats again on that lovely guitar!

Great stuff! At last something on AGF that's not 50-60 years old :-)

Well played Dustin, I am a big fan of Andy Mckee too and I play a few of his pieces but not this one.

Your guitar sounds really great too :-)

Thank you man! I’ve got loads of love for the classics but Andy is and likely will always be my favorite guitarist. His tunes changed my life and that’s no exaggeration. I may be uploading “Heather’s Song” at some point. And maybe “Into the Ocean” if my roommate lets me borrow his harp!
