Default RCF Evox J8

Has anyone here tried or heard the RCF Evox J8? Any idea how it compares to the EV 50M?

I haven’t tried it because they are in short supply and backordered at most retailers in the U.S. right now. They do get a lot of love across various pro live sound and gear forums I frequent. They are consistently listed as comparable at worst, and often superior to EV 30. I believe if I have remembered the specs and comments correctly, the EV 50 may be a little more powerful but not necessarily better sounding. Hopefully they will be back in stock soon because RCF has an outstanding reputation and I want to try one out too. Like you, I want to compare them directly with the Evolve line.

Also check out new LD Maui28 G3. Note, no internal mixer.

I used to have one. The version without a built in mixer. Liked it. Great sound at an achievable price. I just needed more portability.

I have an AER Compact 60 3 and like it a lot.

Those who have tried the Udo Roesner daCapo 75, created by the same guy who designed the AER say that the da Capo 75 is a significant improvement over the Compact 60.

I have an use RCF Evox 8 since they hit the market years ago, the older ones in wooden cabinets, and they are incredible. I used them often for smaller open air gigs in front of 400 people with my 6-piece band including a full acoustic drum set and a double bass. That was with two tiny RCF Sub 702.
Up to 200 people outside I don't need any additional subs.
The Evox 8 is the most compact PA I ever had, but the most efficient one, when it comes to power, footprint, setup time and weight.
