Arrow SOLD! Collings "Custom" 0001 German EIR Vintage Sunburst SS Cutaway

SOLD!

Collings "Custom" 0001 German /East Indian Vintage Sunburst SS Cutaway
(2013)

An amazing custom built Collings!

A Fingerstylists Delight! ...This one checks all the boxes!

Incredibly responsive to even the lightest touch!!!

The combination of the streak free German Spruce soundboard, lush chocolatey brown East Indian Rosewood back & sides & the short scale are "Winning Combination" for the ultimate in TONE!*

I've never had a better fingerstyle guitar, & I have had plenty!

Standard 1-13/16 Nut Width & 2-5/16 string spacing at the bridge. Those specs & the rosette & tortoise body binding are about the 'only' 0001 "Standard" attributes on this guitar. Pretty much everything else is "Custom"...

The Custom Upgrades are as follows:

German (European) Spruce Sound board
East Indian rosewood back & sides
3 Style backstrip
Rope Purfling
Cutaway!
Short Scale
Adi braces
No Tongue brace
Tortoise bound Fingerboard & Headstock
45 Style Snowflakes fingerboard inlays
Custom "Vintage" Sunburst
Waverly "3 on a plate" Gold tuners with ebony buttons
Tigerstripe pickguard

Excellent condition Collings TKL case c/w 'blank' owners certificate

Trimmed out with these options, this guitar would list new at $9185.00 + applicable taxes.

No trade interests.

Guitar is in Canada but can easily be imported back to the USA as that is it's "Country of Manufacture / Origin". So no duties or taxes...

Default Curious/Indian?

Just curious w regarding to the "Indian" description reference.
Is that for the IRW or some other attribute? Can't stop looking at this one but just have trades.

Best of luck w your sale.

Yes. The "Indian" designation is definitely referring to the East Indian Rosewood back & sides of the guitar. It happens to be a gorgeous set of Dark Chocolate brown grain which compliments this instrument not only cosmetically; but also sonically. Lending a bit of 'Sweetness' to it incredible tone.

Ah, when I saw 0001 cutaway...

Except for the rosewood and slotted headstock you matched what I would order for a custom Collings.

Love the wider nut and saddle spacing, sunburst, pick guard, and short scale.
Beautiful looking guitar with loads of great features !

Here are a couple of this model in action:

Hi Mark;

Yes, the rosewood back & sides definitely adds some "Lushness" to the sound that may not appeal to someone looking to a more fundamental sound usually found with mahogany B&S guitars. I think for solo finger style, the rosewood adds a bit more "BODY" to the sound of the guitar by itself....( Just my $0.02 worth)

As for the slotted headstock; I used to hate the look of these. Now, I've grown to really love the look. & quite frankly, I personally think they string up just as easily as the paddlehead tuners; once you learn the trick to it, maybe even easier?

Cheers!
Rudy
