Default Santa Barbara 2019?

Is the Santa Barbara Guitar Celebration still happening this year?

I see they still have a FB page, but it looks outdated and the link they have listed goes nowhere...

Apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum for this question--thanks in advance!

Thanks, Doug--that kind of what I figured but wanted to make sure.

They are doing a much smaller luthier event on Sept 14, to open a series of concerts that will be held throughout the fall (I'll be playing along with Teja Gerken on Oct 27). The kickoff concert is with Alex DeGrassi and Andrew York, on the 14th, along with around 8 luthiers.

He made a huge tactical error holding the show in the Earl Warren barnyard that first year. It was a terrible place to have a guitar show between the hot indoor environment and noisy fans. The follow on year was much, much better, but by then it was too late. From the builders' perspectives, I don't think attendance was great.

Yes, really too bad. California used to be the luthier showcase capital of the world. Now, we seem to be down to, let me count, ........, none.

So sad there are no longer any big events in California. I guess you guys will all have to fly over to attend the Holy Grail Guitar Show in Berlin next spring.

Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg, PA - April 2020
LaConner Guitar Festival in LaConner, WA - May 2020
Woodstock Luthier Invitational Luthiers Showcase in Woodstock, NY - October 2020

Thanks for this listing. I was spoiled for years having the Healdsburg Guitar Festival in my back yard so it would be fun to travel to one of these and I think that LaConner being the closest is probably the one I might head to one of these days. But the Great River one sure looks like a nice place to head off to.

Best,
Jayne

Not really a big show, but we are having another event at my home this spring as well with about 7 luthiers and some world class entertainment that I will announce as soon as that is finalized 100%.

Another one to add to my list! We heard good things about your event and very cool that you will be planning another one.

Best,
Jayne

I miss not having the Healdsburg festival and now Santa Barbara. Although the first SB was somewhat of a bust, it was my intro to a lot of the fantastic luthiers that frequent the AGF.

I'm definitely gonna have to check out LaConner soon.

And of course, the B.I.G. is at the top of my list!

The first, this year, was the best event ever according to folks who had been to TONS!

Cindy and Beth and I certainly had a wonderful, WONDERFUL time.

Yay Tom and family!

I’d like to visit Artisan or La Conner. The BIG this year was a blast.
