I don't know which part of the picture is more amazing, the reasonably clean work bench area, or the fact you managed to catch Steve actually working HA!! I'll see you guy's tomorrow afternoon to pick up the 00, I cant wait to finally see it in person. I love this thread, keep the pictures coming!

Dave, we can’t wait for you to get here! Jimmy, all our benches do multiple work as well, but amazingly we have saved this one bench for 75% inlay work - which is probably the highest percentage of one type of work any bench does. It’s probably because I’m too scared to go over there and mess up anything. Hands and knees on the concrete floor looking for 2mm pearl dots will do that to you.

The Master at Work!
Nice pic of SK hard at work. Haha
I am always scared when I see fastidiously clean workshop pics. How does one work in such a hospital like setting? I like the see-thru tele template in the window... This is a fun thread! Thanks CU soon at B.I.G. Paul

I still can't believe I haven't visited your shop yet! I'm only about two hours away and I've been saying for two years that I'm going to visit. I'll get Sandy to take a day off soon and we'll head over - for certain!
And I love the guitar and inlay bench! David

Hey! What's all this talk about me working?
You know this shot was staged. Actually, what's happening here is a nap in progress. It was great until Ryan snuck up. We sincerely appreciate the kind remarks guys. And whether you're in Dallas, or Louisiana, or wherever the road runs, you are most welcome to swing down/over/up/through. We'll pull up a chair for you. Steve |

What I really want to see though is a picture of how you are going to inlay those wedges resting in the window sill. That should be an interesting project to share |

Another shot of Steve working - this time on a true catch all bench. Got to line up that neck just right for some reason.

That door hold looks awesome, maybe throw a couple in the car as house warming gifts in 2 weeks!!!! I can help market them and see if we can get that off and running for you!!! I think I would like curly maple with say a cocobolo binding, dark hardware, flat finish...

Here's a shot for Ryan. It's clearly a neck install, but one a bit over due. This guitar will make it to B.I.G....a 00 of some really interesting Koa, bound in American Cherry. Fretboard is Jamaican Dogwood sourced from the Florida Keys, and a bridge of Texas Ebony. So everything on this guitar, save the 2 neck lams of Hond. Mahogany, is from the North American continent.
Well, I should say "the States", as Koa doesn't exactly grow here. Anyway, a "domestic" guitar is an apt description. Thanks for looking! IMG_2726.jpg |
