I got back from a weekend beach trip with the family on Sunday and went straight to bending and glueing the second side in. Not much push back from the boss when I said I wanted to work on Father’s Day. She and the little guy were both exhausted from all the sun and it was either work or a few hours at the poker table. Today, Tuesday, I finish sanded the sides back radius, glued in the fabric and kerfing. Without the backs centerline reinforcement, I weighed both together to be 2.4lbs. The towns carnival is this week and if Felix gets tired of the rides, I should have the box closed up this week at some point. Hoping for rain and note to self: Do not buy unlimited rides.

Default Lattanze 2019

It was a great week:
Got the box closed up
Some pernambuco bridge blanks arrived
Had some run-good at the poker tables
Spent some time with old friends from high school and their families. We had eat gotten together in almost ten years.
I’m going to glue up the blood wood binding/purfling laminates and cut the channels this week.

I was excited to get the clamps off today and took it off the workboard. I snapped a few shots before heading over to repairs for the day.

Here’s an early pic of the headstock veneer before some sanding and touchups.
