Default Epiphone by Gibson PR650

I have an ‘Epiphone by Gibson’ PR650, Korea model. I can’t find any information on it or it’s serial. Plenty in the ‘Epiohone’ PR650 made in Japan, just not the Gibson one. SN 8609103.

It's tough. Epiphone had so many variations of different instruments that it is difficult to get a lot of informtion and as you mentioned, they retain the same model number for guitars made in different countries with different specs. As an example, I have a '81 MIJ PR-755s. There is a USA PR-755s of the same year, but the USA version has laminated back and sides while mine has solid rosewood back and sides. Obviously same model number, but a ton of difference in build. As far a Epiphone by Gibson, or PR-650 I didn't find any info on it at all.

Pics???

I always thought "Epiphone by Gibson" was just a gimmick that sellers used. Since Gibson bought the brand, all Epiphones are "made by Gibson" in an indirect way.

This in actually has “Epiphone by Gibson” on the head. I’ve seen the same model with just ‘Epiphone’ on the head. Not sure how to add pics in here.

I think these were built in the eighties early to mid according to Blue Book. Slope shouldered with laminate top and hog back and sides. The PR or Presentation series became the DR eventually. Epiphone guitar production in Korea finished in 2004.
