Thanks for the comments everyone! Will hopefully be able to post pics on Wednesday but the maple on this guitar is GORGEOUS and (although I don't know anything yet) it sure sounds nice to me! I think I got a heck of a guitar for $250.

Welcome to the forum! I'll echo what others have said and tell you that your Seagull is an Excellent choice for a first guitar.
Most of us old timers started on Stella & Harmony guitars and have the scars to prove it!

I had an S6 myself set up for DADGAD tuning.

How ta go. Very nice guitar and a great deal on a quality instrument. Take lessons if you possibly can because it is a great way to learn.
