Default Earnie Ball??

Anyone familiar with Ernie Ball acoustic guitar strings? phosphor vs 80/20? how do they measure up with your 'high end' guitars? any info would be much appreciated

I have a pair of the Paradigm phosphor bronze .11’s, they are a coated high strength set, not cheap but I’ve really enjoyed them the last couple months or so that I’ve had them on. I would definitely buy again. I’ve also used their regular Earthwood strings, didn’t mind them but I’m more of a coated fan because I like to save money and not change strings every 3 weeks!

I use Earthwood PB 12-54s on my Blueridge dread. They sound great and hold up well.

I’ve played Earthwood 80/20’s and PB’s.
I currently have a set of Aluminum Bronze on my Taylor 110e.
I like the way they sound.
Not my goto strings. But I like them enough to use them as an alternative.

Sounds like last week's thread...anyway, Ernie Ball makes fine strings for acoustic. The Aluminum Bronze will make your guitar notably louder. The Earthwood aren't terrible, but for 80/20, I much prefer D'Addario. The Paradigm strings have a wrap around the ball ends of the plain strings that makes them less likely to break. They sound good, but are pricey.

I've used both bronze and phosphor bronze Earthwoods on multiple guitars. Always 12's on Mahogony/Sitka dreads. They are as good and as long lasting as any other uncoated string I've tried. And they are very inexpensive.

I second and third much of what has been said. I use strictly the EB medium-light gauge strings.

I currently have Earthwood 80/20s on my HD-28 (had a pack I wanted to try on that guitar; it previously only saw PBs).

I have Paradigm PBs on my Taylor (recently scored five packs for $40, looking at buying a box of 12). Haven't tried the Aluminum Bronze, but after what I've heard (both good and bad) I'm sure I'll try some out of curiosity. Question is, which guitar to try them on (nice problem to have).

As others have said, they are inexpensive and they measure up very favorably against any other brand I've personally used, including: Martin, D'Addario, GHS, and John Pearse.

Great sound, long-lasting, and inexpensive. Win-win-win.

I don't use them now, but every time I've used Earthwoods they've been great. Plus, they're inexpensive to boot.

I just stumbled on this (and bought a box @ $3.75/set). For anyone interested (don't bother floating an offer - it'll get rejected):

When Best Buy sold instrument accessories they sold Earthwoods for around $2.50 a set.

I’ve slowly been switching all my guitars to the aluminum bronze strings. They are a little rough on the fingertips but sound amazing.
