The once and future dread:
This is my second Taylor 710ce. I traded the first for another guitar and discovered on the way home that it had been my wife's favorite. So, I saved up for a replacement for her. Bob

I am good to go, but my Bourgeois Slope D is feeling a bit unwell. I suggested a nap. David Last edited by Deliberate1; 05-24-2020 at 10:44 AM. |

You the Man, 3M.
Got any N95's in your repertoire - bring 'em along and I'll join in. David |

You all are killing me with your beautiful dreads! Incredible.
John Fogerty has a few D gems too (as you might well imagine): https://youtu.be/Y4E3tHaZBlc Not Sure why embedding isn’t working Last edited by Kerbie; 03-31-2020 at 07:32 PM. Reason: Fixed video. |

L-R: Taylor 517e, Gibson Hummingbird, Martin D-41 [For some reason all photos I post here are automatically rotated...]
Funny thing is, up until I got the 517, I swore I hated dreads...

Quote:
Back to your question, the 3 Hummingbirds are very different: First on the left is a true vintage HB which is very lightweight and bright sounding. Middle one is the 50th anniversary ebony HB which has rich tone and good low ends. Last on the right is a HB with madagascar RW and sound pretty much like the 50th HB but has a really nice burst finish. Only setback of HB is the lousy pickguard adhesives which keep peeling off. |

[/QUOTE] Man. Learn something new everyday. Can you just lie to me and tell me that it sounds a shoebox with strings, so I can be on my way. LOL |
